It will be aired as "Ancient Arsenals - The First Submarine" on Discovery/ TLC in 2004.

Obelisk

  1. "Pharoah's Obelisk" on PBS Nova's Secrets of Lost Empires Series: This video is for the second program in the Secrets of Lost Empires NOVA mini-series, which aired on PBS stations across the country in 2000. The video describes how a diverse group of members of the Guild and Massachusetts College of Art, inspired by Rick and Laura Brown, worked with a crew from WGBH/NOVA to film the raising of a 27-ton granite obelisk Egyptian style.

    Rick and Laura Brown of Handshouse organized students, faculty and alumni from Mass College of Art and members of the Timber Framers Guild to participate in the raising, a this once in a lifetime learning event.

  • "Medieval Siege" on PBS Nova's Secrets of Lost Empires Series
  • A video of the first program in the Secrets of Lost Empires NOVA mini-series, which aired on PBS stations across the country in 2000. A group of some 50 timber framers traveled to northern Scotland, to participate in building authentic replicas of a medieval siege engine called a trebuchet. The project was filmed by NOVA/WGBH Boston for NOVA's Secrets of Lost Empires series.
